Funeral Ceremonies
Honour your loved one with a beautiful, bespoke and unforgettable funeral or memorial.
In 2020, I lost my father to Covid 19. As he lived in the United States, I was unable to attend his scaled down, graveside funeral due to travel restrictions. It broke my heart.
To make up for this, with the support of family, I pulled together and officiated a virtual funeral complete with songs, eulogy and a presentation honouring Dad’s life.
It wasn’t quite the same as being there, but it helped, and it is where my journey into being a celebrant really began.
You can listen to the eulogy below.
I am here to support you and your family through this difficult time.
I will provide a listening ear and calming presence and will ensure that your loved one’s funeral provides a memorable and fitting tribute, celebrating their life and providing comfort to you and your family.
I also offer memorial services. My Yellow Heart ceremonies are designed to honour the lives of those who died during the Covid 19 pandemic and who may not have had the funeral they deserved due to restrictions in place at the time.
I understand how important this is to the grieving process. I would be happy to talk to you about how best to commemorate your loved one in this way.
About me
My approach is compassionate, caring and considerate. I will not only tell your loved one’s life story but, by working closely with you and your family, I aim to capture their unique essence and the place they hold in your heart.
Together we can create a ceremony that perfectly honours their memory and provides solace in a time of grief.
What to expect:
Prices start at £250 for funerals and memorials within Cheshire, Merseyside and Staffordshire.
Kind Words
“Funerals are not the easiest of times for close family and friends to talk about their loved one’s passing, especially during Covid when we had to stand 6 feet apart from each other at the gravesite. It was Jo’s beautiful eulogy that brought the small group together, and reminded us all of why we loved our Bri.
The thoughts she expressed in it, and the tone of her voice, even over a recording, made us all so sad in mourning our loss but also happy in the wonderful memories. Thank you Jo. You were a rock for me then and still are whenever I listen to your voice.”

"Joanne, recently, was the Celebrant at my husband's funeral service. From the initial conversations leading to the actual day, Joanne was extremely helpful and professional throughout.
We received so many compliments after the service and would certainly recommend Joanne's services"
Pat Carter
"Joanne was utterly professional and supportive throughout the process of organising my father's celebration of life.
It can feel pretty overwhelming finding yourself in such an unfamiliar and emotional situation, but having Joanne alongside me as I arranged all aspects of the day, gave me confidence and reassurance.
Joanne assisted with the writing of Dad's eulogy and used her amazing writing and organisational skills to ensure that the Order of Service flowed well, and that each section linked to the next. She then led the service confidently, and as one lady said to me "at the perfect pace".
As sad as the occasion was, Joanne delivered an occasion that Dad would have really approved of, which brought much comfort and amusement to all those present.
Both the Funeral Director and those who joined us at the crematorium, were extremely complimentary about her professionalism.
Thanks Joanne for getting me through a very emotional time: I hope I don't have to use your services again too soon, but I would certainly recommend you to others looking for an excellent celebrant."
